Welcome to the community (video)

With all the bad news that that we see and hear about around the world it is easy to become discouraged about a healthy, sustainable and compassionate future for our own generation and generations yet to come. But the "if it bleeds, it leads" mentality of media hides the many good things that are happening everyday all around the world.

At People Powered Peace, we believe that people have the power to change the world for the better without waiting for external forces (like government and industry) to do the right thing. One of the simplest and biggest ways for people to make a better world for current and future generations is to move towards a organic plant-based (vegan) diet.

Although the population and affluence of the world is increasing, people are becoming aware of the harmful effect of animal agriculture on our health, the environment, other people and, of course, the non-human animals with whom we share this planet. Rather than continue to participate in the violence we perpetuate against animals people are choosing a more compassionate, healthy and sustainable lifestyle. Meat consumption in the U.S. has been in decline for the last couple of years.

Of course, some of this has to do with the severe droughts caused by climate change, which also stem mostly from animal agriculture. But the increasing severity of climate change caused weather and the lack of action from government and industry are waking people up to do more themselves than to wait for a miracle solution that might be too little too late.

Even a country like India, whose growing affluence has some of its citizens consuming a more western diet, is seeing a growing and thriving vegan population

For those who are moving in the right direction of a wholly plant-based diet, we have created a short (8min) video to highlight some of the wonderful benefits one accrues regardless of your motivation to choose a vegan diet. If you are someone who has made or are making the transition to a vegan diet, this video is for you. It is a celebration of that choice and our way of showing gratitude to you for choosing a more healthy, compassionate, sustainable and just lifestyle. Welcome to the community, and thank you!

If you know of other people who are making this transition, please share this video with them. Together, we, the people, can build a better world. Thank you for watching and sharing.
